      • To be confirmed for AVR-X250
    • 2018 AV Receivers - How do I use ARC with my Samsung TV?
      • With Samsung televisions, you as the user can choose whether the TV audio is output directly via the television or the connected AV receiver.
If both components are connected to the ARC, on the switched-on Samsung TV select the CEC function via the Tools button and then select Receiver - if the HDMI control of the receiver is activated, the device name should also be available. Switch the "Receiver" function to "On" - the AV receiver will be switched to Source TV and will play back the TV audio.
        General Instructions:
Please check first of all whether A/V-Receiver and Television are available via the Audio Return Channel function (ARC). Modern televisions ONLY have an ARC-compatible input (generally marked as ARC at the input). Please use this ONLY for the connection with the A/V receiver.
In order to transmit the TV audio from the television to the A/V receiver via HDMI, you must connect an HDMI cable from the ARC-compatible input of the TV to the HDMI-Monitor-Output of the receiver.
In the set-up menu of the A/V receiver you must set the item HDMI Settings - HDMI Control to "ON" (more detailed information can be found in the user manual on the pages on HDMI Control).
In order to ensure the smooth transmission of all video resolutions, we recommend the use of HIGH SPEED cables.
Should your TV or A/V receiver not have the ARC function, select an alternative option for transferring the audio of television programmes or select a co-axial digital connection between the receiver and your TV. If you are using a co-axial cable, then you must assign the corresponding input in the menu as the TV input.
    • AV Receivers & HEOS - I cannot get TV sound on my HEOS devices when streaming TV AUDIO from the HEOS powered AVR to my HEOS devices. What can I do?
      • Please note that you are only able to stream 2 channel PCM signals to other HEOS devices. If you input a bitstream signal via optical, coaxial or ARC, there will be no sound even in case the HEOS app displays that TV AUDIO is running. This is also the case if your AVR and your HEOS speaker are grouped. To use TV AUDIO over HEOS, configure the output of your TV and set it to PCM.

    • AV Receivers & HEOS -Is it possible to use HEOS speakers as surround speakers with my Denon HEOS powered AVR?

    • AV Receivers & HEOS - Is it possible to “send” the sources (connected by HDMI or optical/coax or analog audio) connected to HEOS enabled AVR (AVR-X1500 model and up) to other HEOS speakers/zones?

      • Yes, using the HEOS APP. Make sure the HDMI/digital sources are set to PCM and not bitstream.

    • HEOS - What is required to make HEOS work properly in my network environment?
    • HEOS: HEOS Home Cinema - Is it possible to expand the HEOS HomeCinema to a Surround System?
      • It is not possible to combine other speakers as surround speakers with the HEOS HomeCinema.

The HEOS HomeCinema features a virtual surround technology that delivers an impressive surround effect from only the compact soundbar and the wireless subwoofer.
The HEOS HomeCinema is thus an independent soundbar / subwoofer system and therefore can not be extended to a 5.1 surround system.

Anyhow, you are able to group other speakers to the HEOS HomeCinema when listening to sound from external sources. This TV Sound Grouping functionality should only be used if the grouped speakers are not in the same room / area. Therefore, volume control via remote control will allow you to control the volume of the HEOS HomeCinema only, but not the grouped speakers.

If you want to build up a whole surround system with surround speakers and subwoofer, we recommend to use the HEOS Bar or the HEOS AVR.

See below the changelog at a short glance:
