It was love at first sight when John Jureit, a partner at Happen, saw Evoko Room Manager for the first time when visiting a sub-contractor and thought: ”We need this product”.

The Evoko Room Manager, our room-booking solution with touch-sensitive screens that display the status of a meeting room at the door, has been awarded yet another design prize: the 2011 Good Design Award.

The need to use every square foot in this megacity as efficiently as possible acquires deep-laden symbolism when Evoko Unlimited AB opens its first local office in the US. The Evoko Room Manager is a room-booking solution that uses touch-sensitive displays outside of meeting rooms to guarantee correct bookings, and thus contribute to efficient room use. This Swedish innovation, which clearly displays the booking status of the meeting room at the door, first came to attention in the US in 2011, at InfoComm in Las Vegas. The elegant Scandinavian design of the product has won several prestigious international prizes, and the system is today marketed in several parts of the US and in Canada.

The close relationship between design and function has once again been demonstrated. The Evoko Room Manager – the booking system with touch-sensitive screens outside the meeting rooms that helps companies to use rooms to the full – has been awarded the iF product design award for 2011. This prestigious award now entitles Evoko to use the iF logo as a guarantee of quality. “When you consider the 12 parameters that must be spot on in order to win the prize, it becomes clear that the award is an early and major recognition for a product that has only been on the market for just over a year”, says Daniel Assarson, Sales & Marketing Manager at Evoko Unlimited AB.

Following a rapid growth in Europe and success in front of audiences at the “InfoComm 2011” trade show, the recent Swedish innovation in meeting room scheduling is now being introduced to North America. Evoko Room Manager allows for easy, hassle-free scheduling and an efficient use of meeting rooms. It can even be set up automatically to free up booked rooms that are not being used!?

This film actually snuck up on me in the not so distant past.  I wasn’t even aware work had wrapped up on a new Robin Hood story, let alone through the direction of the great Ridley Scott.  Well here we are in the third weekend in May and Robin Hood has arrived. Starring the controversial Russell Crowe (at least that’s the way the media has portrayed him), we find ourselves going back to 12th century England where the good old English are still butting heads with the French and corruption is in good supply.

After many, MANY various adaptations of the same story, Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Alien) has directed a re-visioning of the classic tale of Robin Hood, with an all star cast including Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, William Hurt, Mark Strong, Danny Huston and Max von Sydow.  Many people say it looks just like another Gladiator, but my review will tell you why the trailers are completely misleading… as usual.  Check it out!

Before anyone goes bad mouthing this comedy I just wanted to go on record by saying it wasn’t that bad.  I think Death at a Funeral had me laughing harder than this one did, but considering what we have to work with so far this year, Cop Out stands out amongst the best of the comedy genre selections in 2010 (see my full review here), IMO of course.  Well with that being said, Warner Home Video has announced a July 20th Blu-ray release date for Cop Out: Rock Out With Your Glock Out Edition.
