Here’s a title I owe it to myself to see. I have heard so many good things about it. Gregg Senko gave an excellent review of it here and I have heard from many people how it was just as funny as last year’s The Hangover (although I don’t see how that could be possible), as long as you remember and can laugh along with the 80’s. So needless to say, my curiosity is peaked at an all-time high!

I’m kind of sad to be reporting this news. It seems my boy Sylvester Stallone won’t be doing a Rambo 5 after all. It’s a shame, but I can be understanding too. Surprised? Yeah, so am I. After the way Rambo 4 ended, it kind of seemed weird that he would return for another adventure. But I won’t complain if he did. Anyway, Rambo 4 ended in a series finale-like fashion, so I guess we all have our happy ending. Right?

I came across this article Saturday morning while getting ready to head out to Los Angeles and I smirkingly found it hilarious. I remember standing in line at Best Buy on April 22nd when I bought the infamous Avatar Blu-ray and the cashier told me that I need to do a firmware update so it plays okay. I smiled and said “You mean on all five of my players?” She laughed. Low and behold I went home that night and popped it into my Playstation 3 and Panny players and no firmware updates were required. It played fine.

Say what you want about the young actress. Love her or hate her. There’s no denying her sexual appeal and just the mention of her name in a flick will have young teenage boys drooling in the ticket line and rushing to the theater on June 18th to see Jonah Hex. Whether the comic book film sucks or not, there’s always Megan (below) in that promiscuous outfit of hers.

Here’s a title I have never heard of before in my life, but I can’t say that I am not intrigued. After all, it has Kathleen Robertson in it. I do fondly remember her from her days on Beverly Hills 90210. And then there’s the quirky Zooey Deschanel, Richard Dreyfuss and more. So you can’t say this movie doesn’t have its stars. Hmm. I actually think I want to see it. Nonetheless, I’ll get my opportunity very soon when Vivendi Entertainment brings the Tin Man to the Blu-ray format on July 20th.

What if, one day, someone like Superman did a one-eighty, totally dissatisfied with society and those whom he thought were friends? What if he became so disillusioned with humanity and their bouts of ungratefulness that he abandoned his cause for the better of man? Boom! Studios did exactly that with their release of Irredeemable; a story about a super-human being known as the Plutonian whose initial intentions lie in the heroic, but fall to the demented.

In some ways, reviewing a classic is great, but in others, it can be a curse. On one hand, you get the opportunity for an early viewing and to think critically about a title that has been revered over the last century. The fact that this particular classic stars Obi-Wan doesn’t hurt either. On the other, it’s a challenge to find a way to add something to the discussion if a 45-year-old movie. I mean, what hasn’t already been said?

It’s official! At least according to Warner Bros. that is. And I guess that’s all that truly matters. Right? Late last week, Warner Bros. broke the news that the follow-up to Christopher Nolan’s 2008 Blockbuster The Dark Knight will hit the theaters on July 20, 2012. That’s a long time to wait. I know. But I am optimistic. Nolan needed time to deal with Heath’s untimely demise and to get Inception out of his blood.

Disney found success in 2009 with its nature documentary, earth. Disney decided to revisit this genre this past Earth Day (4/22), bringing us Oceans, an aquatic documentary narrated by Mr. Class himself, Pierce Brosnan. As an admirer of nature and the many mysteries it has to offer, I was immediately intrigued when I first came across the movie poster in the midst of another bitter Midwest winter.

The time is ticking down as we approach yet another national Free Comic Book Day. What is it, you might ask? Exactly what the name states. Well, let’s clarify that. THE CONTROVERSIAL PREQUELS AND SEQUELS AND HOW HATERS, APOLOGISTS AND FANS HAVE GONE THEIR OWN WAYS… In the interest of full disclosure, Star Wars is the movie that sparked my love of movies and because of that; I’ve wanted to be a director for as long as I can remember. That feeling was solidified when I saw The Empire Strikes Back, which is possibly my favorite movie of all time, except for the days I prefer Raiders of the Lost Ark.
